Band ini dibentuk pada tahun 1993 oleh Peter Kubik dan Thomas Tannenberger. Setelah rilis beberapa demo, hengkang Tharen meninggalkan band dan digantikan oleh Silenius, yang merekam vokal untuk semua Abigor rilis sampai rekaman penyaluran saripati setan selama yang ia memilih untuk meninggalkan band. Thurisaz, yang telah di thrash metal band kehilangan korban bersama-sama dengan Tannenberger pada 1980-an, bergabung dengan band dan selesai rekaman di penyaluran saripati setan. Pada akhir 1999, Tannenberger meninggalkan band karena berbagai alasan (mulai dari masalah-masalah pribadi muak dengan apa sekali "adegan"). Setelah kepergiannya, Abigor merilis dua album dengan lebih sebelum putus pada tahun 2003.

Kebanyakan Abigor rilis dibebaskan oleh Napalm Records.
